healthy and simple high protein snack ideas for when you are short on time

Can you believe it's the end of January already? I hope you are doing well and easing into this new year - remembering to be gentle with yourself.

Did you create any new year resolutions this year? Are you over them already? Ha?! I'm not big on resolutions, but I am BIG (actually huge) on creating habits that support me feeling good. So, I've been working on a few new habits over here.

One of them is simply to remember to be prepared with healthy food options. I found that by the end of the holidays I had less healthy food in the house and planned out, which led to more take-out; or random throwing whatever we could find down for meals/snacks so that we could get on to the next thing.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. I mean there's a time and a place for everything.

However, I know that I feel much better (both physically and mentally) if I have food options that are simple, healthy, and ready to go. Which is why re-establishing this habit in my world is so important.

I would love to help you do the same. Have food options that are simple, healthy, and easy to put together - no matter how much time you do (or don't) have.

Which is why, when I saw the results from the survey** I sent out in December (thanks again to those of you who took the time to complete it), I was so excited.

Unanimously you requested more info on quality protein snacks. I mean I love talking all things food and nutrition and putting together a helpful tool for you like this makes me sooooo happy!!

This one page - easy to download and print out - Quality Protein Snacks Guide - has something for everyone. I've packed it with 15 different ideas (including 2 short recipes) that will fill you up and keep you going all day long.

Plenty of options for 5 minutes or less, 10 minutes or less, and my favorite 15-minute Energy Bites that will satisfy the whole family. We've been testing different energy bites over here and these are by far the favorite. Any of these ideas work great for a quick pick-me-up mid-afternoon, pre-workout, after school, or as part of a meal.

Action Step: Download the Quality Protein Snacks Guide and check your pantry/fridge for any items you need to pick up this weekend. Then plan to keep a few options stocked in your kitchen so that you have healthy quality protein snacks ready to go when you need them.
